Different Diving with Laura is a one-instructor PADI operation in Cozumel, run by Laura Tucker. It is structured differently from almost every other shop on the island: there is no group rate. Every course and every fun dive is priced at either 1:1 — one diver, one instructor — or 2:1, two divers to one instructor. That ratio is the product, not an upgrade.

The site does not fix the dive sites in advance — "The dive sites we explore are a delightful surprise every day" — and custom site requests are accommodated. Why Different Diving with Laura Stands Apart

The pricing structure is the whole story. On most Cozumel boats you are one of six to twelve divers behind a single guide, and a "private guide" is a paid extra. Here the 1:1 or 2:1 ratio is baked into every line of the price list, including entry-level courses. For a nervous beginner, a diver returning after a long break, or someone working on buoyancy and air consumption, that is a materially different experience from a standard group boat.

The second thing is transparency about the specialties. Individual specialty prices are published per diver — Wreck at $310 USD, Deep at $350 USD, Drift Diving at $160 USD — rather than being quoted only on enquiry.

The trade-off is honest and obvious: one instructor means limited daily capacity and a per-person price well above the island's group rates.
