Blue Mystic Divers is a PADI operation departing from Marina Fonatur on the Carretera Costera Sur, with pick-up available from resort piers. It runs a stated maximum of four divers per group, and is unusually direct about why: with four, the guide can give everyone full attention.
Why Choose Blue Mystic
Group size. Four is at the tight end for Cozumel and matters most on drift dives, where the guide has to track a moving group along a wall.
They match the dive to the divers. The shop states that it always matches the dive to the experience and comfort level of the people on the boat. In Cozumel this is not a small thing. Sites like Santa Rosa Wall and Barracuda carry strong current and are not the place for a diver on their fifth dive; Paradise Reef and Chankanaab are. An operator willing to change the plan for the group in front of them is worth more than one running a fixed rotation.

Location and Logistics
Departures are from Marina Fonatur, in the marina cluster south of San Miguel, roughly ten minutes from the center. Resort pier collection is available — confirm which applies to you when booking.
Who It Is Best For
Divers who want a small group. Anyone combining Cozumel reef diving with a cenote day without booking a second operator. Nervous or returning divers, who benefit from the shop's stated willingness to adjust the site to the group. Guests at properties with their own dock.
Group Sizes, Published
Blue Mystic puts numbers on paper where most shops use adjectives. Maximum four divers per group. The ratio is four divers to one divemaster, and a second guide is added once a group passes five.
The specialty excursions carry their own limits: bull shark trips run 2 to 6 divers, the shark cave 4 to 8, eagle rays 4 to 8, and cenote trips 2 to 8. Advanced Open Water is required for all four, and the shark cave also requires Nitrox.
Where You Actually Meet
There is no public storefront. Standard boat dives leave from Marina Cozumel Fonatur. The advanced excursions depart elsewhere — bull shark and cenote trips from the ferry terminal, the shark cave from Marina Asipona.
Boat pick-up from hotel piers covers the InterContinental Presidente, Fiesta Americana, Costa del Sol, Sunscape Sabor, Allegro, Occidental and Iberostar Cozumel. Note that resort pier pick-up is explicitly excluded on the advanced excursions — you make your own way to the departure point.
The Dive List
Two-tank morning and afternoon dives, twilight dives, night dives with a four-diver minimum, Intro to Scuba for the uncertified, snorkelling, technical diving, cenote excursions, and the bull shark, shark cave and eagle ray trips. Nitrox is available at 32% and 36% for certified divers.
Courses cover Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Deep Diver, Enriched Air and Scuba Review, with Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Theory listed as well.
Rental covers BCD, wetsuit, regulator, mask and fins, with computers and lights available. Divers bringing their own BCD or regulator can leave it in free concierge storage between days.
One Thing About Diving Cozumel
Sunscreen is prohibited in the Cozumel National Marine Park — not discouraged, prohibited. The chemicals in most formulations damage coral. Bring a rash guard instead, and if you must use something, make it mineral-based and apply it well before you reach the boat.
