Restaurants in Cozumel are where a diving day ends, and the island is better at this than a reef-first trip gives it credit for.

Downtown San Miguel holds the density, with Yucatecan kitchens, seafood and long-established places within a few blocks of the main square. Along the coast roads are the beach-club kitchens and the resort restaurants, which suit the nights you would rather not move. The practical difference for a diver is timing rather than cuisine: whether you are eating between a morning boat and an afternoon one, or properly at the end of a day with nothing scheduled after it.
