Mr. Sancho's is one of the best-known day-pass clubs on Cozumel's south coast, at Km 15 on the Carretera Costera Sur. It is a big, busy, family-oriented operation rather than a quiet cove, and it works well as a place to park a non-diving partner or the rest of the family while you are out on a two-tank morning.
This is the leeward, western side of the island, protected from the trade winds by Cozumel itself. The water here is calm, shallow at the shore and swimmable on almost any day, which is the fundamental difference between the south coast and the surf-battered east side. Kayaks are included, and the sand is groomed.
The all-inclusive day pass is $79 USD for adults 18 and over, $50 USD for teens 12 to 17 and $40 USD for children 4 to 11. It covers unlimited food and drink, sun loungers, tables with umbrellas or tiki tops, three pools including a swim-up bar, kayaks, freshwater showers and lockers. Motorised watersports and massages cost extra.
Open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00. Book ahead on heavy cruise days, when the club fills quickly. There is plenty of shade under palapas, but arrive early for a front-row palapa.
Carretera Costera Sur Km 15, about 20 minutes by taxi south of downtown San Miguel and the cruise piers.
