Tacos and street food in Cozumel are what you eat between a morning boat and whatever comes next.
After a two-tank morning you are salty, hungry and not dressed for a proper restaurant. Walk a few blocks inland from the waterfront and the island changes: family taquerias, cochinita pibil, marisquerias and market stalls, priced for the people who live here rather than for cruise traffic. It is fast, it is cheap, and nobody minds a damp rash guard. The same places are the honest answer on an evening when you do not want a sit-down meal.
The listings below cover taquerias, street stalls and market kitchens across San Miguel and the hotel zone. Where a business publishes hours we show them, though street food keeps its own schedule and the busiest stalls sell out. If you want something more formal — a table, a menu, a bill — the restaurants directory covers that end of the island. Cruise passengers with a few hours ashore will find most of these within walking distance of the piers, and the Cozumel cruise port guide explains which pier you are actually docking at.
