Wet Wendy's Margarita House and Restaurant

Wet Wendy''s has been pouring oversized house margaritas on Avenida 5, half a block off the main square, for well over a decade, and it remains one of the most reliable after-dive stops in San Miguel.

What To Expect

A narrow, open-fronted bar and restaurant with seating spilling toward the street. The draw is the margarita list — fruit, tamarind and spicy versions, blended and served in heavy stout glasses — backed by a full Mexican and American menu of tacos, burgers and seafood. Evenings bring a mix of visiting divers, cruise passengers who stayed on past sailing time and island regulars. It is loud and social rather than a quiet spot for a nightcap.

Good To Know

Open Monday to Thursday 10:00 to midnight, Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 2:00, and closed on Sunday. Prices sit in the mid range for the island. Credit cards are accepted. The bar is two blocks inland from the Malecón waterfront and roughly a five-minute walk from the ferry pier, so it is easy to reach on foot from anywhere in Centro after an afternoon boat comes in.

Getting There

From Parque Benito Juárez, the main square, walk one block inland to Avenida 5 Norte and turn left. The bar sits at number 53, between Calle 2 Norte and Avenida Benito Juárez. From the southern hotel zone or the marinas at Caleta and Puerto de Abrigo it is a short taxi ride to the plaza, then a one-minute walk.
