Overview

Sucré Salé is the French corner of downtown Cozumel — a small bakery-café on Calle 2 Norte turning out croissants, baguettes, quiches and tarts, and one of the highest-rated places to eat in town.

What To Expect

Viennoiserie and pastry made on site, savoury tarts and sandwiches, and coffee served properly. The room is air conditioned, which matters by mid-morning, and there is table service as well as a takeaway counter. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available. It is small, so it can fill up on cruise days.

Good To Know

Open Monday to Saturday 7:30 to 22:00 and Sunday 7:30 to 13:30. The 7:30 opening is workable but not generous if your boat leaves at 8:00 — order to take away if you are tight. Prices are mid range. Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, takeout and step-free access. It is two blocks inland from Avenida Melgar and a few minutes'' walk from the ferry pier.

Getting There

From the waterfront, walk inland along Calle 2 Norte; the café is between Avenida 5 and Avenida 10, just north of the main square. From the southern hotel zone, take a taxi to the plaza and walk two minutes.
