Is insurance mandatory?

Liability insurance and tax are already included in the published rate. Collision cover is optional and costs $10 a day for a scooter or $20 a day for a car.

What do I need to bring?

A valid physical driver licence and a credit card in the driver name. Digital or photocopied licences are not accepted.

Payment can be made in cash or by credit or debit card, though a card is still needed for the security hold.

Can I drive on dirt roads?

No. Taking the vehicle onto unpaved roads voids the insurance, so stick to the paved ring road and the cross-island highway.

How far is it from the cruise piers?

It is directly in front of the Puerta Maya terminal and a short walk from the SSA international pier.
