Mar y Mar Rentals

Mar y Mar Rentals sits opposite the Puerta Maya cruise terminal and a short walk from the SSA international pier, which makes it one of the easier places on the island to pick up a scooter without first taking a taxi into town. Alongside scooters they run a full car and Jeep fleet, so a group can split between two wheels and four.

Rates And What's Included

The published scooter rate is $25 USD per day for a two-seat machine. Cars start at $45 USD for a two-door topless Chevy, $50 USD for a sedan such as a Gol, Tiida or Aveo, and $55 USD for a two-door topless Jeep. Every rate includes liability insurance and tax. Multi-day discounts are published at 10 percent for three to seven days, 15 percent for eight to fifteen and 20 percent for sixteen to thirty.

Insurance And Deposit

Liability cover is built into the rate. Collision insurance is optional and costs $10 USD a day for a scooter or $20 USD a day for a car, with a 10 percent deductible. Cover is void if you ride under the influence, exceed the speed limit or take the vehicle onto unpaved roads, which rules out most of the island's dirt tracks.

Good To Know

Bring a physical driver licence and a credit card in the driver's name. The desk is closed on Sundays.
