Overview

Cozumel Snorkel Center runs snorkel-only boat trips out of downtown San Miguel, which makes it an easy option for a non-diving partner or for a surface-interval afternoon when you cannot get back in a tank. Nobody on board is kitting up with cylinders — the whole trip is built around floating over Palancar, Colombia and the El Cielo sandbar.

What The Trip Includes

All snorkel gear and life vests, drinks and fresh snacks on board, and a bilingual crew. The signature route visits Colombia, Palancar and El Cielo; there is also a turtle sanctuary route and a luxury catamaran version of the turtle trip. Shared tours run about four hours and are priced in Mexican pesos, from roughly MX$1,000 per person.

Boat And Group Size

Shared departures run on the company fleet. Private charters are booked by the whole boat: Inolvidable (7 max), Sea Senor (14 max), The Enigma (14 max), the Poseidon catamaran (22 max) and The Intrepid (24 max), all on a 4.5-hour itinerary.

Good To Know

Snorkel gear is sanitised between trips. Hotel-pier pickup is offered on selected routes. Rates are quoted in pesos rather than dollars, so check the day rate before comparing against USD-priced operators. Phone and WhatsApp are answered between 8am and 6pm local time.

Getting There

The shop is on Avenida Rafael E. Melgar between Calle 2 and Calle 4 in San Miguel, a short walk north along the waterfront from the Punta Langosta pier. Shared trips leave at 9:30am, midday and 2:00pm; private charters depart at 9:00am and 2:00pm daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is snorkel gear included or do I bring my own?
All gear and life vests are included and sanitised between trips. You are welcome to bring your own mask if you prefer a familiar fit.
Are the tours shared or private?
Both. Shared departures run at 9:30am, midday and 2:00pm. Private charters are booked by the boat, from the 7-guest Inolvidable up to The Intrepid at 24.
What currency are the prices in?
Rates are published in Mexican pesos, from about MX$1,000 per person on the shared reef tour. Convert before comparing with operators who quote in US dollars.
Can they collect us from a hotel pier?
Hotel-pier pickup is available on selected routes. Confirm it when you book rather than assuming it applies to every tour.
Is this suitable if my partner is diving that day?
Yes. These are snorkel-only trips, so a non-diving partner is not tagging along on a dive boat, and the 4-hour format fits either side of a dive day.
