Deep Exposure Dive Center is a two-boat Cozumel operation that describes its whole approach in three words: "Safety, Service and Simplicity." What actually separates it from most of the island's dive shops is scope — Deep Exposure teaches PADI and NAUI recreational courses, SDI and TDI technical certifications, and closed-circuit rebreather training, all from the same shop, and publishes a full price list in US dollars before you ever pick up the phone.
Cozumel has well over a hundred dive operators, and the overwhelming majority of them are recreational-only: two-tank morning drift dives, an Open Water course now and then, and gear rental. Deep Exposure sits in a much smaller group that also runs decompression and rebreather training. If you are a reef diver, that mostly means you are diving with a shop that takes gas, equipment and procedures seriously. If you are a technical diver, it means you do not have to fly somewhere else to keep progressing.

Why Choose Deep Exposure Dive Center
Deep Exposure Dive Center's own stated goal is "to create a scuba diving center in Cozumel that is based on the 3-S principles; Safety, Service and Simplicity." The shop links safety directly to training: it states that "diver safety is synonymous with education and continuous training," and it applies what it calls the Golden Rule to customer service.
It is genuinely multi-agency. PADI and NAUI for recreational training, SDI and TDI for technical. Very few Cozumel shops carry four agencies. If you started an SDI Open Water at home or hold NAUI cards, you can continue on the same path here instead of cross-overing to PADI.
It publishes real prices. The rate card covers dive trips, rental gear, recreational courses, technical courses and CCR instruction, all in US dollars. It also states clearly that "These rates do NOT include the Marine Park fee. The fee is subject to change depending on the current exchange rate," which is the single most common surprise charge in Cozumel.
It owns its boats. Deep Exposure I and Deep Exposure II are the shop's own vessels, not chartered seats on someone else's boat. That matters for schedule control, for how the boat is rigged, and for whether the crew knows you by the third day.

Diving Style and Experience
Diving with Deep Exposure Dive Center means drift and wall diving on Cozumel's leeward reef line. The shop describes the island as "perhaps the worlds #1 drift and wall diving location," noting "consistent warm water currents suitable for divers of varying experience levels."
Deep Exposure states there are "over 23 dive sites on the leeward side of the island just a short boat ride from the hotels and downtown area," and adds that "Cozumel offers something very special and exciting for all levels of divers."
Beyond standard reef diving, Deep Exposure runs night dives, snorkelling trips, and mainland cavern tours that cross to the Riviera Maya. Technical and CCR dives are run as a separate programme.

Both boats carry the same diver-focused fit-out: a private changing area, a dry storage area for personal gear, an outdoor fresh water shower, a "45° custom design and built diver ladder for easy access," a DAN O2 kit, a camera table and fresh water rinse tanks.
One honest caveat: Deep Exposure Dive Center does not publish a maximum group size or a maximum number of divers per boat. If small groups are a priority for you — and on a 40-foot boat the difference between eight divers and sixteen is enormous — ask directly when you book and get a number.

Location and Getting There
Deep Exposure Dive Center is in San Miguel de Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The shop does not publish a street address on its website; the only location marker on the site is a map embed pointing to "Deep Exposure" in San Miguel. Confirm the shop address and, more importantly, the pier you are meeting at when you book.
Deep Exposure does advertise "Hotel Pier Pick Ups," so if your hotel has its own pier you may be able to board there rather than travelling into town. Availability depends on where you are staying, so raise it at the time of booking.
The shore facility includes a fresh water shower, rinse tanks, shaded and sun-bathing areas, a camera table with rinse, and fresh food and drinks. The shop also offers a "Hands Free" service — valet handling of your gear between dives and between days.

Two things to note. First, the Open Water course price includes equipment, and the three-day option is $70 cheaper than the four-day — a real choice between pace and cost. Second, the site states directly: "These rates do NOT include the Marine Park fee. The fee is subject to change depending on the current exchange rate." Budget for it separately.

Who It Suits Best
Technical and rebreather divers. This is the clearest fit. A shop with TDI Tech I through Tech III, CCR training at three levels and rebreather rental on the island is not common, and the named technical instructor, Don, is permanent crew rather than a fly-in.
Divers on a NAUI, SDI or TDI path. If your cards are not PADI, Deep Exposure lets you keep going on the same agency instead of cross-overing.
Photographers. Camera tables on both boats plus a dedicated camera rinse at the shop is a specific, deliberate provision.
Divers who want to know the price before they commit. The published rate card removes most of the guesswork.
Divers who want their gear handled. The "Hands Free" valet service and hotel pier pick-ups make a week of diving noticeably lower-effort.

Who Might Prefer a Different Shop
Divers for whom a hard small-group cap is non-negotiable. Deep Exposure publishes boat specifications but not a maximum diver count or guide-to-diver ratio. Several Cozumel operators guarantee six divers or fewer in writing. If that guarantee is what you are shopping for, ask Deep Exposure for a number first — and be prepared to look at the full Cozumel dive centre guide if the answer is vague.
Divers who need an address to plan around. With no street address published, working out how far the shop is from your hotel takes a phone call or an email. Some visitors would rather book a shop whose location is on the page.
Budget divers doing a lot of tanks. At $115 for a two-tank, Deep Exposure sits at the mid-to-upper end of the Cozumel market, and the site does not advertise multi-day package discounts. Shops that publish 5-day or 10-dive packages may work out cheaper over a week.
Divers wanting Cozumel cenote diving. The cavern trip Deep Exposure runs is on the mainland, which means a ferry crossing and a long day.
