Overview

Zel Cozumel is the Melia group''s all-inclusive on the north coast at Carretera Costera Norte Km 5.8, on Playa Santa Pilar. It was formerly and is still widely booked as Melia Cozumel Golf All Inclusive, and it is the furthest north of the island''s big resorts.

Diving From Here

Be clear-eyed about this one: island dive operators confirm that pier pick-up is not available at this resort, so every dive day starts with a taxi to the harbour or Marina Fonatur, then a boat run south past town to the reefs. That is easily forty minutes of transit before the first descent, twice a day. There is no dive center on the property. Snorkelling, windsurfing, sailing and kayaks are included on site, which suits a mixed group. Stay-and-dive packages sold through island operators have been published at around 1,485 USD for seven nights and six dives.

Rooms And Facilities

Two freshwater pools, one family and one adults, three restaurants including a seasonal outlet, five bars, and a children''s mini club for ages four to twelve. Golf features in the resort''s offer.

Good To Know

This is the right resort for a family where one person dives and the rest do not. It is the wrong resort if you want to be first on the boat every morning.

Zel puts itself 5.5 km from the center of Cozumel — a short taxi to town, a longer one south to the marinas.
