Overview

Occidental Cozumel is a large all-inclusive on the southern hotel road, set back in tropical gardens and mangrove rather than perched on the coast highway. It is one of the island''s established dive resorts and works best for guests who intend to dive with the in-house operator all week.

Diving From Here

ProDive International Cozumel operates the dive center at the resort, covering certification courses and equipment rental, and pool sessions for training are run on site. Dive boats pick up at the resort rather than requiring a run to Marina Fonatur. Being at the southern end of the strip, the reefs at Palancar and Colombia are a short boat ride away. Package pricing sold through island operators has been published at around 1,290 USD for seven nights with six dives.

Rooms And Facilities

Three pools — one for quiet swimming, one for activities and a children''s pool — plus multiple restaurants and bars on the all-inclusive plan.

Good To Know

The resort does not publish its street address, room count or nightly rates on its own marketing pages, so confirm those directly with Barcelo or your agent. It is a long way from downtown: eating or drinking off-property means a taxi in each direction, and there is no walking to independent dive shops from here.

Getting There

Southern hotel zone on Carretera Costera Sur, a substantial taxi ride from San Miguel and the ferry terminal. Closer to the airport than to town.
