Hertz Cozumel Airport

Hertz runs two Cozumel locations: the airport office at Avenida 65 and Boulevard Aeropuerto, open around the clock, and a second desk at the SSA international cruise pier on the south coast road, open 8:00 to 16:00. The 24-hour airport office is the most flexible pickup on the island for anyone on an awkward flight time.

Rates vary by class and season. Mexican third-party liability insurance is a legal requirement and is quoted locally on top of most international rates, so treat the online figure as a starting point rather than the total.

Insurance And Deposit

Ask the agent to itemise mandatory liability, collision damage waiver and theft protection, and to state the deductible on each. Your home credit card's rental cover does not substitute for the Mexican liability policy. A card pre-authorisation is held for the duration of the rental.

Good To Know

The cruise-pier desk is convenient if you are on a ship and want a car for the day rather than a taxi tour, but it closes at 16:00, so build the return into your all-aboard time with room to spare. There is no fuel on the east coast, so fill up on the airport road or in town first.
