Sol y Mar Rentals is a Cozumel-run agency with four pickup points: the ferry port office on Calle 2 Norte, a Punta Langosta office on Calle 7 Sur, a scooters-only desk outside the Sunscape Sabor resort on the south road, and a partner desk near the SSA and Puerta Maya cruise terminals. The published price list is one of the clearest on the island, which matters when the alternative is a hand-written quote at a counter.

Rates And What's Included

Published daily rates run from $45 for a two-door topless Chevy, $50 for a Gol, Tiida or Aveo sedan, $55 for a two-door topless Jeep, $75 for a two-door hardtop Jeep, $88 for a four-door hardtop Jeep or Baic and $90 for a seven-seat Caravan. Scooters are $25. Every rate includes liability insurance and tax. Discounts are published at 10 percent for three to seven days, 15 percent for eight to fifteen and 20 percent for sixteen to thirty.

Insurance And Deposit

Liability cover is included. Collision insurance is optional at $20 a day for a car or $10 for a scooter, with a 10 percent deductible. A pre-authorisation equal to the rental total plus $100 USD is taken. Alcohol, speeding and unpaved roads all void the cover.

Good To Know

Minimum age is 21. You must present a physical driver licence and a credit card in the driver's name. Digital copies and probationary licences are refused, and American Express is not accepted.
