Rock ''n Java has been feeding people on the Cozumel waterfront since the 1990s and is one of the most established breakfast rooms in San Miguel. It sits on Avenida Rafael E. Melgar with tables looking out over the water.

What To Expect

Large American and Mexican breakfasts, strong coffee and a dessert counter of home-baked pies and cakes that regulars treat as the main event. The menu also covers Caribbean dishes, salads and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options later in the day. Service is friendly and unhurried, so allow a little time if you have a boat to catch.

Open 7:00 to 22:00, seven days a week — the 7:00 start gives you a comfortable margin before an 8:00 or 8:30 departure. Mid-range prices. It is on the seafront just south of Punta Langosta, a short walk from the downtown piers and within reach of most Centro dive shops.

Getting There

Walk south along Avenida Rafael E. Melgar from the ferry pier past Punta Langosta; the restaurant is at number 602-6 on the water side of the road. From the southern hotel zone, any taxi into town will drop you at the door.
