Las Iguanas

Las Iguanas is a large oceanfront villa north of downtown Cozumel, set up for groups of up to twelve. For a dive club taking a house for the week rather than booking a block of hotel rooms, it is one of the more workable options on the island.

Diving From Here

The property has a man-made beach with steps leading down to a dock, and a coral reef directly off the front for snorkelling. A private dock is the thing that makes group diving from a rental house practical — operators can pick up at the property instead of assembling twelve people at Marina Fonatur at dawn, though you should confirm that your chosen shop will run the pick-up before booking. There is no published rinse tank or dive locker, so plan gear handling with your operator.

Rooms And Facilities

Four bedrooms sleeping twelve: one with a full and twin bunk combination, one with a queen, and two oceanfront bedrooms each with a king and a full. The kitchen is fully equipped with large and small appliances, purified drinking water, pots and pans. There is a large pool with loungers on the oceanfront level.

Nightly rates are not published — enquire with the rental agent. It is north of downtown, so restaurants and the dive shops need a taxi rather than a walk, and there is no hotel service.

Getting There

North of downtown Cozumel with direct ocean access. Town, the ferry and the marinas are all a short ride south.
