Meet Luis — Your Cozumel Dive Instructor

Luis Sifuentes Marín is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor based in Cozumel, with ten years of teaching and guiding behind him.

He grew up in central Mexico and moved to the island thirteen years ago for one reason: he loves the ocean. That is not marketing copy — it is the whole explanation. As he puts it, being underwater is the best thing you can do in life, as simple as that.

Luis teaches and guides in Spanish and English, and holds the Nitrox Instructor specialty alongside his instructor rating. He also works as an underwater photographer, so divers who want images from their dives can arrange that with him directly rather than hiring a second person.

Experience and Background

Luis has worked with Tripping Cool Corp., Aquarella Images Underwater Photography, and Scuba Du — a mix of dive operations and underwater imaging work that explains the combination of skills he offers.

Thirteen years on the island means he has watched Cozumel's reefs through storm seasons, bleaching events and recovery. He has a particular soft spot for sharks and turtles.
