Overview

El Cid La Ceiba Beach Hotel sits at Carretera a Chankanaab Km 4.5, just south of the cruise terminals, and is one of the older names in Cozumel diving. It is a mid-sized all-inclusive rather than a mega-resort, and the dive center is genuinely part of the property.

Diving From Here

Babieca Dive Center operates from the hotel at the same Km 4.5 address, so dive briefings, tanks and boat departures are all handled without leaving the resort. The water directly in front is the La Ceiba house reef — the stretch of shallow reef this hotel gave its name to. Km 4.5 is far enough south that boat runs to Palancar and Santa Rosa are shorter than from the downtown piers, and Marina Fonatur is only a couple of kilometres further along the coast road.

Rooms And Facilities

All-inclusive dining runs through La Chopa, the Ya''axche cevicheria and a poolside snack bar, with meal plans available at different levels. There is a pool, a beach and a spa.

Good To Know

The hotel is close to the SSA cruise piers, which means the shoreline and shops nearby get busy when several ships are in. Confirm your meal plan carefully at booking — El Cid sells this property on several different plans, not all of them fully all-inclusive.

Getting There

About ten minutes by taxi south of the central square. Marina Fonatur is a short ride further south, and the airport is close.
