Overview

Blue Angel Resort is a small, dive-first hotel on the water at Carretera Costera Sur Km 2.2, just south of San Miguel. Twenty-two rooms, one restaurant, one pool and a dock — the whole property is built around getting divers onto a boat quickly and back into a hot shower afterwards.

Diving From Here

The Blue Angel Dive Shop operates from the property, and its two-tank boat trips leave from the resort's own dock rather than from a marina across town. Departures are at 8am, 10am and 1pm; night dives run as a single tank and need a minimum of four people, with twilight trips leaving around 3pm or 5pm depending on season. There are lockers, showers and somewhere to rinse gear down by the beach area, so kit does not have to come back up to the room.

Rooms And Facilities

Fourteen rooms have two double beds and eight have a king. There is an outdoor pool, though it is also used for scuba classes and does not have much shade. The on-site Blue Angel Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and breakfast is included with the room.

Good To Know

Published rates are quoted in Mexican pesos on the hotel's own site rather than USD, and they drop for stays of a week or more. The dive shop keeps its own WhatsApp line, +52 987 876 6865, separate from the hotel switchboard.

Getting There

It is roughly a twenty-minute walk into the heart of downtown along the coast road — pleasant enough in the evening, less so at midday with a kit bag. Taxis are cheap and constant.

  • • Two-tank boats depart 8am, 10am and 1pm
