Hotel Cozumel & Resort sits at Carretera Costera Sur Km 1.7, about a mile from the main square, and is one of the few large properties on the island where the dive operation is genuinely part of the hotel rather than a concession that meets you elsewhere.

Diving From Here

Dive Paradise runs a full-service beachfront shop and training facility on the property, and boats leave from the hotel's own pier — no taxi to Marina Fonatur at 7am. The dive side of the property includes showers, rinse tanks and lockers for gear storage, and the guest terraces are fitted with hooks for hanging wet kit to dry. Packages combining rooms and diving are published per person: roughly 1,290 to 1,759 USD for seven nights with five dives on the all-inclusive plan, or 933 to 1,430 USD on bed and breakfast, with shorter four-night options from around 550 USD.

Rooms And Facilities

The 180 rooms have been renovated and carry flat-screen TVs, wifi and terraces. The pool is the largest on the island and there is a hot tub. The all-inclusive plan covers three meals a day, with beverage service running 11:00am to 10:30pm — worth noting if you want a drink straight off an early boat.

Good To Know

The property is on the inland side of the coast road, with its beach and pier directly across; the swim area is a sandy strip rather than a wide beach.

Getting There

Roughly a mile south of the central square, so downtown restaurants and the dive shops on Melgar are a short taxi ride or a twenty-minute walk.
