Playa Azul Golf Scuba & Spa Hotel

Playa Azul Golf Scuba & Spa is a 51-unit hotel on the north shore at Carretera San Juan Km 4, north of San Miguel. It is one of the few Cozumel hotels that combines a working dive shop with an included golf arrangement, which makes it unusually good at handling a mixed group.

Diving From Here

The hotel has an on-site dive shop running lessons and trips, and a pier at the water's edge that boats use for pick-ups — so you board on the property rather than taxiing to a marina. Cleaning and overnight storage of personal gear is offered if you are diving several days in a row, which is the single most useful thing a Cozumel hotel can provide. Snorkelling off the rocky shoreline in front is decent between boat days. Bear in mind that all the reef diving is south of town, so boats run twenty-odd minutes down the coast before the first descent.

Fifty-one units across ocean-view rooms, ocean-view family suites, oceanfront family suites and oceanfront jacuzzi suites with a private jacuzzi on the balcony. There is an oceanfront pool with a children's area, and unlimited green fees at the Cozumel Country Club are included.

Good To Know

The shoreline here is ironshore and rock rather than sand. A seven-night, six-day-diving package on a breakfast-only basis has been published from around 970 USD per person.

Getting There

North of San Miguel on the San Juan road, a few minutes by taxi from the ferry terminal, the central square and the airport.
