Overview

The Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa occupies a long stretch of shoreline at Carretera a Chankanaab Km 6.5, south of town. It is the most expensive way to dive Cozumel from a hotel with its own dive operation, and the one where the non-diving half of a couple is best looked after.

Diving From Here

Scuba Du is the dive center on the property, and the hotel's own scuba packages are built around it. Equipment rinse and storage facilities are explicitly included in those packages, which is not something every Cozumel hotel puts in writing. Published package pricing starts at 762 USD for a double room over three nights with two days of diving, 642 USD per person triple, and 1,317 USD single — room, breakfast and diving bundled.

Rooms And Facilities

Packages include premium pool access rooms. The property runs a spa, several restaurants and a long sand-and-ironshore beachfront, and Km 6.5 is close enough to the southern reefs that boat runs are short.

Good To Know

Rack rates outside the dive packages are high by island standards, and food and drink on site are priced accordingly since this is not an all-inclusive. If you want a walkable dinner scene, this is the wrong end of the island.

Getting There

About fifteen minutes by taxi from the central square and the ferry terminal, and roughly the same from Marina Fonatur. The airport is close.

Highlights

  • • Scuba Du dive center on the property, 33 years on the premises
  • • Rinse and storage areas plus equipment valet
  • • Tanks and weights for shore dives in the dive packages
  • • 221 rooms and suites, four restaurants
  • • IKAL Spa and a kids programme
